After the death of all witnesses to the birth of the Church and the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Church experienced an unprecedented spiritual crisis. And, it is impossible to pin down a single origin to early Pentecostalism. Nor the great Welsh Revival of 1904, which roused evangelical Christianity from its torpor; nor Asuza's Awakening Stretch in Los Angeles in 1906, which attracted observers from all over the world etc., cannot be considered the only historical sources of the Pentecostal movement.
Finally, the Holy Spirit was at work throughout the world, it was not only localized in the churches of America or Europe. His movement had shaken Africa and his presence was seen in the lives of some members of missionary churches. But, the latter were fought by the colonizers who thus prevented African Christians from living under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, many of them died in prison because of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit who incarnated them.[1 ] The Federation of International Pentecostal Churches in Belgium declares: the God we pray to is a God of all languages and all nations. The Holy Spirit has no color .
He is at note that, before the days of spiritual crisis, the churches had the experience of Pentecost, for example : In Armenia, India, China, Chile, although without outstanding personalities like Luther or Wesley were in their time. With renewed dynamism and vitality, this spiritual movement spread in Europe in the 1910s, as far as Africa through the intermediary of the American missionaries of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God and those of the Pentecostal Churches of the Scandinavian countries.
Given the above, it is good to ask the question in order to be reassured, and to know with certainty, if the Holy Spirit had left the Church during the days of the troubled years of the history of the Church? The answer is no ! the Spirit was present and at work in small groups that had no legal status in the eyes of state authorities and religious leaders of the time. The movement of Pentecost is certainly one of the great Christian denominations in the world today.
